Canadian are a funny bunch, mostly good hearted and well intentioned, but unbelievably naïve. This could be because most immigrants come from a background of experiencing much worse, so they can be fleeced much more easily.
Our CPP is the retirement plan that is failing most Canadians now, thanks in large part to Harper Hoodlums and Company (2006 to 2015) where we saw a new breakdown in what a pensioner will get, to insure almost everyone that will retire in the next decade or two will not get the full amount. If that breakdown was not bad enough, he does not want you to have it till you are 67.
For 2018, the maximum CPP retirement benefit for new recipients age 65 will be $1,134.17 per month, BUT – If you did not contribute into CPP for at least 39 years between the ages of 18 to 65, then you won’t get the maximum.
Canadians however will pay Harper a pension that starts at age 50 and give him $54,693 a year, now compare his pension to ours.
Harper Hoodlums and Company took your CPP contributions and invested it, so it better turn a profit or our pension funds could well melt away. That said it leaves citizens in the crosshairs about what they want to object to on moral grounds or what they will support.
It cannot get any more corrupt than this, if this would have happened in France they would have brought the guillotine back out of retirement. But in Canada, here have another reefer people and smile.
So here is where Harper Hoodlums and Company invested our CPP contributions.
Guns, cigarettes and American prisons!
Don’t believe me, Read This “NDP MP Charlie Angus pressed Morneau for his opinion on CPPIB’s holdings in a tobacco company, a military weapons manufacturer and firms that run private American prisons. The prison operators and their facilities are seen as beneficiaries of the Trump administration’s controversial detention of asylum seekers and, in some cases, their children.”
Now we have Justin’s spin doctors are telling us that they will charge a higher rate in CPP contributions so they can give us more, and I have a dead deepfreeze that works great when it’s -20 and uses no electricity.
Now that’s only one tax, as the name implies, Liberal, applies to spending, the more you spend, the more you need, and so as not to offend Canadians, government needs a tax that people will ask to pay? Sounds crazy? Not so much when you call it Carbon Tax.
Someone once said “The True Cost of Commuting: You Could Buy a House Priced $15,900 More for Each Mile You Move Closer to Work” and that was before they invented Carbon Tax.
The sad part is that most driving is done by the people commuting back and forth to work, who already paid from that income, Income tax, federal and provincial, municipal tax, GST, PST, road tax, gas tax, sin tax (booze) then there are hundreds of others like hotel tax, restaurant food tax, tax on pets, pet food and the list goes on and on and on.
But the Liberals need more money to spend buying votes, so we add the Tax you wanted to pay, called Carbon tax. So far there is no charge for when you exhale, or when you fart, or for cattle, but just you wait, this is only the first step in carbon taxes.
If government really wanted to cut pollution, in particular carbon emissions, they would invest in ways to make that happen, not by doing what they have for decades when they claimed they were taxes cigarettes because they cared about your health. Justin just replaced that loss of tax revenue by selling weed.
A new Canadian first, the most profitable drug dealer in the world, the Canadian Government and they do not even have to make the sale, they have pimps for that.
You don’t get people to drive less going back and forth to work, to solve the problem you need to solve their problem fist, by providing a better alternative. Just wait for the carbon tax to be added to pot you smoke.
Food for thought on Carbon Tax.
“B.C. aimed to prevent potential job losses by using some of the taxes raised to cut corporate taxes.” How sweet, tax cuts for the richest and more tax for the working class. (Reference)
