From its conception like its predicator HST was created by fraud, even before it came to British Columbia. Both GST and HST are products by people who care little about democracy and care only about the rich paying less and the poor paying even more.
When you have to stack the Canadian Senate in order to pass a bill, yes both the GST under Mulroney and HST under Harper were created by stacking the vote or neither would exist today, or at very least no in the manner they were implemented.
In British Columbia the former head of the Liberal Party resigned in shame over cheating the citizens of British Columbia during the election in order to bring HST into our lives.
Remember the quote by Tomas Jefferson “He who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and third time, till at length it becomes habitual.
The Liberals have now repeated the lie so many times I think they actually believe their own lies.

Oh, the hysterically rich complain, why do we have to talk about that?
Well let me explain why.
The richest corporations in Canada pay only half of what the same corporations pay in the United States, and with HST they will pay even less.
British Columbia alone has become a tax haven for the rich, why? Plus under HST they will even pay less, unless they are one of the many who do not even pay tax at all.
From 1999-2008,
• the number of corporations paying no income tax in BC is over 5 times higher
• the number of people making $100-200k/year yet paying no income tax is over 8 times higher
• the number of people making over $200k/year yet paying no income tax is almost 3 times higher.
To start with HST is a cover-up for a much more serious problem, that problem being the inequality of the burden itself.
There is the argument if you lower tax rates, the corporation will invest more money into new projects and create more jobs, and such is the Liberal and Conservative philosophy.
Let us put that statement into perspective, what businesses and these political parties are telling you is that if you shoulder all of the taxes, and they shoulder very little, they will give you more jobs.
That money, their share of the taxes that is equates to billions of dollars, and in reality what they are saying is if you pay the tax bill, corporations will expand, get even richer and you are going to help them pay for it.
Say what, are we insane as a society, lets look at those numbers again. If instead of giving corporations any tax break and we took the portion that they rightfully paid, and we invested it as Canadians into publicly owned business (God forbid doomsday has come) yes I said owned by the people, we could get one heck of a better return on our investment than watching these fat cats award themselves with bonuses that go from hundreds of thousands of our tax dollars to millions of our tax dollars.
The notion that we the people can collaboratively own a business is often treated by many politicians (who are in corporate pockets) as evil as biting the preverbal satanic apple.
We as a society would do much better working with each other, in a co-operative manner, versus that of the dog eat dog practice of today’s mentality where our minds have been trained to equate the following catch phrases or words that allow corporate greed to equal “free enterprise, democracy, your personal rights.”
Corporate strategies also dictate the following as equals, “co-ops, communism, taxes, Medicare, welfare etc.”
Divide and conquer, keep the people divided and it prevents them from working collaboratively, that would be communism according to their carefully worded “script writers” who are paid to wordplay and manipulate truth.
Oddly many corporations in Canada and in particular in British Columbia are the biggest welfare bums on the planet. They get millions of your tax dollars, while at the same time outsourcing Canadian jobs to third world nations so they don’t have to pay our horrid “lowest in Canada” minimum wage, they can now get away with the next best thing to slave labor.
The switch to HST is nothing more than a cover-up of who gets the money and who pays the money. It was never about the arithmetic of how to count the money, but what HST really is, is the shift of tax burden once again from the rich to the poor.
Do not get me wrong, I am not against privately owned business, in fact they too are under attack, and many examples of such exist, like watching your local bakery disappear of 50 or more years of local service to corporations like Wall Mart. They is only one of many, in fact the topic of corporations taking over all of our countries privately owned businesses is a topic for another day.
Today its about who pays tax when you agree to HST and the answer is clearly those who earn under 100 Thousand a year, then with each 10 Thousand less the amount of HST increases until you get down to the poverty level.
In a nutshell HST is bad because, it’s the working class who take yet another cut in pay as they now have to subsidize the rich.
